Farnham is a town in Surrey, England. The poulation is 40,000

It is 58 km south-west of London, 55 minutes by train.

By road, Guildford is 17 km to the east and Winchester is 45 km to the southwest, while the coast with numerous beaches is around 64km south.

The nearest airports are Heathrow (35 mins by car) and Gatwick (50 mins by car). Dover ferry port is about 2 hours by car.

The area is also well served by local bus routes.

The average temperatures are about 57°F in April and 70°F in July.

The Area

Farnham has a main town centre and is surrounded by villages such as Rowledge, Frensham, Churt and Tilford to the south, and Crondall, Hale and Aldershot all within a few miles of the town.

The town has 3 supermarkets, and a number of independent and national shops and stores, as well as plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs.

Nearby towns such as Guildford (20 mins), Basingstoke (30 mins) and Woking (30 mins) have larger shopping centres.

What to do

There are many parks, playgrounds, forests and beautiful lakes to explore close to Farnham.

There is a large leisure centre in the town centre with a swimming pool, squash courts, and a large gym, with exercise classes and children's activities throughout the week.

There are many local sports clubs catering for all age groups from children through to adults, as well as dance/drama clubs and many other activities and clubs.
